WebShare Privacy Policy

WebShare collects and stores your email address solely for the purpose of creating and managing your WebShare account. Your email is used only for authentication, account recovery, and essential service communication.

WebShare does not collect your browsing history, and does not track you around the web.

Share links

When you create a share link, WebShare saves a copy of the post you are sharing so the page can be shown to whoever you send it to. That copy includes the title, description, author or channel, image and video addresses, and the original link, along with the note you wrote and your first name. Your note and your name are shown on that page.

A share page can be seen by anyone who has the link. The address is long and random, so it will not be stumbled upon or found in search results, but it is not private and it is not password protected. Anyone you send it to can forward it. Please do not put anything in a note that you would not want passed along.

WebShare does not store who you sent a share to. The recipient's email address is used to fill in your email app and is then discarded — it is never saved, so it cannot appear on the share page or be passed on to anyone.

Your own email address does appear on the pages you create, as a "reply to" link so the person you sent it to can write back. Because a share page can be opened by anyone holding the link, that address is visible to anyone the link is forwarded to as well.

WebShare counts how many times each share page has been opened, and when it was last opened. That is a count only. WebShare does not record who opened it, and does not log names, accounts, or IP addresses of the people who view your shares.

Share links stay available until you remove them. Deleting your data using "Delete My Data" in the menu deletes your share pages along with everything else, and any link you have already sent will stop working at that point.

If you use Send Image, the images you upload are stored on our servers and associated with your account. You can view or delete any of your uploaded images at any time from the "View / delete my uploaded images" page, or delete all of them at once (along with your account) using "Delete My Data" in the menu.

You may not use Send Image to upload sexual content, content depicting anyone without their consent, content involving minors, or anything else illegal. Violations may result in the image being removed and your account being revoked.

We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties, and your data is never used for advertising. The only measurement WebShare keeps is the view count described above.
